The doctor called Terrys brother Darrel out to talk to him . He told Darrel to sit down. When a doctor says to sit down it isn't good news. The doctor told Darrel '' Terry has stage 4 of a rare type of bone cancer and we need to amputate his leg amediatly .Darrel was just in shock. Darrel told Terry what happend. Terry was in shock too . He Didn't believe what he was hearing . The Doctors rushed Terry into emergency surgery . He came out with one less limb that he went in with. It took 10 months of recovery to get Terry back on his feet . He was determined to get back on his feet and play basketball again. When he was in recovery he was thinking '' I want to make a difference , i want to run across Canada''. He told his mom and his mom said no . Terry told her the reason and she agreed . He ran straight for 143 days on his amputated leg . he slept for about 5 hours each day then kept on going. When he got to Ontario he suddenly got really tired. He wanted to go on but he couldn't . He went to the doctors again and they said '' The cancer has spread all over your body ''. '' You only have a few weeks to live if your lucky''. Terry was forced to stop his journey and go back home and die. He died a few days later . His legacy still lives inside us today. We are determined to make a difference. Terry will be in our hearts forever. <3 <3 <3 RIP Terrance Stanley Fox ( A.K.A Terry Fox ) -Haley
