About Terry Fox

Make a Difference with Terry Fox: Terry Fox was born on July 28, 1958. He was a healthy boy. He was just like any other child out there. In 1977 Terry Fox had to get his leg amputated because he got diagnosed with a rare type of stage 4 bone cancer . In 1980 , with his leg amputated , he decided to walk / run across Canada to raise funds for cancer research. He started in St Johns Newfoundland. each province was a journey for Terry. When he got in Ontario, Terry suddenly got tired. he wanted to run but he couldnt. he went to the doctors and they said ' Your cancer has spread all over your body and has hit your lungs. you don't have a long time to live. Terry passed away on June 28 1981. Terry's commitment is still in all of our hearts today .
